On the eve of the first caucus, your candidate is still teh suck

Tomorrow is the first step in retaking the White House. It is often said that primaries are for purity, while the general election is for consensus. That being the case, I'm opting for purity: your candidate isn't good enough.
Yet.
About a year ago, I polled the community in an effort to understand what issues were most important to us in the upcoming presidential election. It would not surprise me at all to find out that our priorities have changed somewhat, but here were our top ten issues:
- Abuses/desecration of the Constitution
- Healthcare
- Environment (including climate change)
- Energy independence/policy
- Election integrity
- Foreign policy/the US's place in the world
- Iraq
- Corporate kleptocracy
- Torture
- Equal rights
Where does your candidate stand on these?
Chances are pretty good that...
...your candidate is either part of the gutless, do-nothing Congress that refuses to stand up to protect the Constitution aginst the abuses of BushCo, or is part of the "what have you done for us lately?" crowd.
...your candidate has not proposed a comprehensive plan to provide comprehensive, high quality medical care to all people in this country, regardless of socioeconomic status.
...your candidate isn't doing enough to save our planet.
...your candidate isn't willing to spend political capital taking on the auto and oil lobbies.
...your candidate hasn't done much to protect us from Republicans' various plans to disenfranchise millions of legally registered, eligible voters.
...your candidate is pretending that all that need be done to restore our national reputation in the world is to elect him/her president.
...your candidate may have voted against protecting corporations who steal from us or violate our constitutional rights -- or maybe not -- but s/he isn't really doing much to redress our grievances.
...your candidate has not proposed a comprehensive, realistic plan to bring our soldiers home as quickly and as safely as possible.
...your candidate isn't pressing hard enough for torturers to be charged with crimes against humanity or to be impeached.
...your candidate has thrown some group of people under the bus on the basis of race, religion, sexual orientation, creed, age, student status, or some other category that ought not to negate human rights.
In other words, your candidate is still teh suck in some way.
But your candidate, whoever s/he may be, is still orders of magnitude better than whoever the losers Republicans end up nominating. So let's have a good, clean primary campaign, full of reasoned debate and policy discussions rather than bullshit personal attacks.
And if it's not too much to ask, could you get your candidate to impress me already? I'm still trying to decide who to vote for when it's my turn.
